I'm Dasha, a Computer Engineering student at NJIT exploring robotics and embedded systems. I build projects to understand how electronics, code, and physical mechanisms work together, with a long-term goal of becoming a robotics researcher.

Dasha

Who I am and what drives me.

I'm drawn to engineering problems that cross boundaries: a motor responding to code, a sensor becoming useful data, or a physical system behaving differently from what I expected. My recent work brings together embedded programming, electronics, feedback control, and mechanical design.

I value understanding each part of a system, testing it carefully, and learning from what goes wrong. I build one subsystem at a time, document what I learn, and work toward projects that connect theory with the physical world. Outside engineering, I enjoy running.

My earlier experience teaching coding and robotics at CodeWiz of Edison helped me practice explaining technical ideas and supporting others as they learn.

Teleoperated Exploration Rover

An ESP32-based mobile robot with N20 encoder motors, a DRV8833 motor driver, and a custom 3D-printed chassis. I brought together the mechanical design, electronics, and firmware to build and test a working teleoperated rover.

The first version uses encoder feedback for closed-loop wheel-speed control. The project has been a hands-on way to learn motor control, debug hardware and software together, and connect control theory with physical behavior. Sensing and autonomy are future directions.

ESP32 Smart Desk

A desk device that tracks study sessions and measures temperature and humidity, with a button, status LED, and OLED display. I integrated the components through firmware that manages input, timing, sensing, and display updates.

V2 connects the device to a local Flask server over Wi-Fi, stores telemetry and session events in SQLite, and presents them in a browser dashboard. The physical device continues working when the network or server is unavailable, making reliability and recovery part of the design.

DevBloom Studio is a full-stack app for learning front-end development through hands-on projects. It combines structured lessons with an in-browser code editor, live previews, saved progress, and classroom tools. Building it gave me experience connecting an interactive interface with application logic and a database.
